Hair Removal – Electrolysis

Remove unwanted hair

Electrolysis is the only proven method of permanent hair removal, and can be an effective alternative for men or women who are not suitable candidates for laser treatments. It is a safe procedure, usually requiring several treatments, and is usually recommended for small areas of unwanted hair, since each hair follicle is treated individually.

Treatment benefits:

  • Permanent removal of hair
  • A possible alternative for those not suited to laser treatments
  • Safe and effective
  • Treats blonde, white hairs effectively

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) about Electrolysis Hair Removal Treatment

What is Electrolysis?

Electrolysis refers to the production of heat by a high-frequency electric current to remove individual, fine, light hairs that are not suitable for laser therapy

How does Electrolysis work?

The tip of a very fine metal probe is inserted into a hair follicle and an electric current is discharged from it, producing heat in the immediate area. The heat causes localized damage, destroying the living cells of the surrounding tissue, including the hair root, preventing the follicle from ever producing hair again.

Are there any side effects or is there any downtime?

Electrolysis is a very safe technique; however, although it is a quick procedure, it can be uncomfortable for some. The area treated may be sore immediately afterwards, and small scabbing may also be evident, depending on how many hair follicles were treated, but this usually subsides within 48 hours.

How many treatments will I need and will the results be seen straight away?

Results are immediate, since each individual hair being treated will be permanently removed. However, any area of the face or body must not be over-treated in order to prevent excessive soreness, so more than one treatment may be necessary to permanently remove all hairs in a given area. In cases where treatment is not very well tolerated, it is preferable to have multiple treatments of short duration, to minimize discomfort.
